When an existing LC or Guarantee needs amending in some way, find the transaction in the system. The transaction needs to be in Issued state before you can request an amendment through the system. For transactions not yet issued, either send an eXchange message or ask the bank to reject the application so that you can resubmit it correctly.
There is also a list of all amendments in elcyMBP, Import Workbench, Import Amendment List. Views are those Ready to Send, those being worked on at the bank, or everything in Issued status.
Find the transaction which requires the amendment and click into the transaction. At the top of the transaction, you will find Create Amendment, click here.
1. Creating an Amendment on a Doc LC
Complete the screen with the required changes. If something is not changing, do not enter anything. Click on Copy Data to copy down the changes, and enter any other changes e.g. to text in that box.
At the bottom, select whether the amendment requires the beneficiary’s consent or not. If Yes is selected, this alters the issuing workflow so that the bank will inform you when they have sent the request to the beneficiary, and only confirm that the amendment is issued once consent is received.
Sending an amendment request out usually requires the same level of approval as for a new Doc LC.
2. Creating an Amendment on a Standby LC
